Key findings

How is the research conducted?
The Financial Wellbeing Tracker is conducted by Opinium and analysed by a team at The University of Bristol’s Personal Finance Research Centre.
Around 6,000 respondents are questioned from a nationally- and politically-representative sample. Since its inception in 2020, the Tracker has shown how UK household finances are faring over time. A consistent set of questions are asked at each wave of the survey, alongside a small set of bespoke questions based on feedback from charity partners and other third sector organisations and external events or significant occurrences.
About the University of Bristol’s Personal Finance Research Centre
The Personal Finance Research Centre is an interdisciplinary research centre exploring the financial issues that affect individuals and households. It combines multi-method approaches with specialisms drawn from social policy, human geography, psychology and social research.
