Aberdeen announces Learning with Parents charity partnership
Aberdeen Group Charitable Foundation (ACF) is partnering with Learning with Parents to make financial education accessible for all families, helping children and parents build money skills together at home and school.

Duration: 3 mins
Date: 06 Aug 2025
Learning with Parents works closely with schools and provides inclusive financial literacy resources - supporting teachers to encourage pupils and their families to have positive money conversations at home.
Research shows that money skills are best learnt at home and parents have the greatest influence on money habits. Learning with Parents provides real-world, practical activities for families to do together, ensuring children build confidence in managing money, while having fun.
Through the Financial Literacy programme, children and their families develop practical money skills and build financial resilience across generations. The funding from the ACF will allow the charity to:
- Expand the Financial Literacy pilot programme to more of its partner schools and reach more families
- Give teachers the training they need to deliver effective financial education
- Create a stand-alone programme helping Year 6 students prepare for the financial responsibilities of secondary school
- Use technology to better understand and support families facing the greatest barriers
Closing the financial literacy gap
Improving financial literacy is a key focus of Aberdeen, last year we set out policy recommendations to boost financial literacy in a letter to Government as part of our savings ladder campaign.
This partnership reflects our shared commitment to support families and the next generation to improve their financial literacy giving them the confidence and skills to save and invest in their future.
