David Mouillé
Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer
David was appointed Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer in January 2022. He is responsible for formulating Aberdeen’s strategy as well as for corporate development activities which include mergers, acquisitions and corporate disposals.
David joined our business in February 2021 as Corporate Development Director. He has many years of international experience in mergers & acquisitions and finance, as well as leading and growing financial services businesses in Asia Pacific and Europe. In his time at Aberdeen, David has led work to strengthen our business model through the acquisitions of Interactive Investor, Tritax, Tekla as well as a number of closed-end funds mandates. He also oversaw the divestments our non-core assets, including private equity activities in Europe and in the USA, discretionary fund management, financial planning, our 50% stake in Virgin Money Unit Trust and a number of technology related businesses. He is a board member of our insurance joint venture Heng An Standard Life in China.
David joined Aberdeen from Citi, where he gained considerable expertise including as head of corporate M&A in Asia, CFO and Retail Banking head in Australia, and latterly as managing director of the consumer banking business in Poland. He also has investment banking experience from previous roles with Merrill Lynch in Asia Pacific.
